Is it helpful to use a fan to keep your computer cool when rendering?

Rendering images is processor heavy so keeping your processor cool while rendering is the smart thing to do. Slow computers, especially laptops, are often slow because the processor overheats. Prop up your computer and run your desk fan perpendicular to the vents if you do not have a more official cooling method.
