Dexter Season 1 question about Rudy?

If he did his killings in his refrigerator/freezer in his apartment...why did they have an epidose where theres 50-60 liters of blood in a hotel room..i know rudy set that place up for dexter to remember his past..but they said that local hotel ppl heard like a "blender" kind of sound from there..what was he doing in there? did he actually do his killings there or did he just transfer blood from his freezer and just pour it in that hotel room? i'm confused...
